Zoom Integration for SG eSchool
SG eSchool integrates with Zoom Video Communications, Inc. to allow authorized users to create Zoom meetings directly from the platform. This integration streamlines the process of scheduling virtual classes, making it seamless for students, teachers, and parents to view and join meetings.
Adding the App
You can authorize and add the SG eSchool app to your Zoom account using one of two methods.
Prerequisites:
- An active SG eSchool account with appropriate permissions (e.g., Teacher or Administrator).
- A Zoom account.
Method 1: From SG eSchool (Recommended)
- Log in to your SG eSchool dashboard.
- Navigate to Zoom >> Zoom Meetings.
- Click on Login With Zoom.
- You will be redirected to the Zoom Marketplace to authorize the connection.
- Review the permissions and click Allow. You will be redirected back to SG eSchool.
Method 2: From the Zoom App Marketplace
- Log in to your Zoom account and navigate to the Zoom App Marketplace.
- Search for SG eSchool and select the app.
- Click Add.
- Review the requested permissions and click Allow.
- Return to your SG eSchool dashboard and ensure your account is linked under Settings >> Integrations >> Zoom.

Usage
Once connected, you can manage virtual classrooms without leaving the SG eSchool platform.
Creating a Meeting
- Feature: Direct meeting creation via the Zoom API.
- Use-Case: A teacher needs to schedule a virtual remote class for their students. Instead of opening Zoom, creating the meeting, copying the link, and pasting it into the school portal, the teacher simply clicks "Create Zoom Meeting" inside SG eSchool.
- How it works:
- Go to your course or class schedule in SG eSchool.
- Select the option to add a new virtual class.
- The system generates the Zoom meeting automatically. The meeting join link is saved and displayed within the SG eSchool dashboard so that students, teachers, and parents can easily access and join the meeting at the scheduled time.
Removing the App
You can disconnect the Zoom integration at any time.
How to Remove the App via Zoom
- Log in to your Zoom account and navigate to the Zoom App Marketplace.
- Click Manage >> Added Apps (or "Installed Apps").
- Search for the SG eSchool app.
- Click Remove.

- Log in to your SG eSchool dashboard.
- Navigate to Settings >> Integrations >> Zoom.
- Click Revoke Access.
Implications of Removal & Data Handling
- Functionality: Upon removal, SG eSchool will immediately stop creating new meetings via your Zoom account.
- Data Retention: Previously saved meeting links will remain in your school’s records on SG eSchool for historical reference and documentation.
- Data Privacy: We use the Zoom API only to create meetings. We do not store Zoom authentication tokens, user IDs, user profiles, participant lists, chat messages, or recordings. The only Zoom-related data stored on our servers is the meeting join link.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues while using the integration, review the common solutions below:
- I cannot add the app: Ensure you have the correct administrative privileges on your Zoom account to authorize third-party marketplace apps. If you are on a managed corporate or school Zoom account, you may need to request pre-approval from your Zoom administrator.
- Meetings are not generating: Check if your Zoom authorization has expired or been accidentally revoked. Go to Settings >> Integrations >> Zoom in SG eSchool and reconnect your account.
- Where are my recordings? SG eSchool does not access, sync, or store Zoom recordings. To view recordings of past classes, log in directly to your Zoom account portal.

What data does the Zoom integration access?
The integration uses the Zoom API only to create meetings. The only data we store is the meeting join link. How do I remove the SG eSchool app from Zoom?
Go to the Zoom Marketplace, navigate to "Manage" → "Installed Apps," find SG eSchool, and click "Remove." You can also disconnect from within SG eSchool under Settings → Integrations → Zoom → Revoke Access. Upon removal, we stop creating new meetings via Zoom. Previously saved meeting links may remain in your school records for reference.
